Google Trends: An Increase in HBO Max and Hulu During the Pandemic and New Celebrity Series on Netflix

An Increase in Searches for HBO Max and Hulu
Unlike most streaming services, HBO Max does not offer a free trial anymore. It’s like a commitment that you have to make to HBO Max. While there is no free trial, you still have the option to cancel your membership if you decide you don’t want HBO Max anymore.
Hulu is a streaming service that also offers a variety of content. You have the option to watch your entertainment with ads or no ads.
Hulu also has options for live tv, bundles, and any other add-ons like Starz, HBO Max, and so on. However, for every add on, you have to pay extra in order to be able to watch whatever you want from those add-ons. This can cause your monthly or annual charges to increase.
According to an analysis of Google search data, from November 22 to 28, 2020, there was an increase in the search for Hulu. This increase is due to the Manga series of My Hero Academia which released Season Four, Episodes 77 to 88 (DUBBED) on Hulu.
On the other hand, HBO Max also had an increase from December 20 to 26, 2020, according to an analysis of Google search data. This increase was due to the Wonder Woman 1984 movie which was released on December 25, 2020.
HBO Max was a topic that was searched a lot during the release of Wonder Women 1984. The movie was released in theatres as well as on HBO Max where people could watch it from the comfort of their homes.

According to an analysis of Google search data, on December 6 to 12, 2020, there was an increase in searches for Selena Quintanilla.
This increase was due to the new Selena series that was released on Netflix. The new series was released on December 4, 2020.
“The Selena series is not a documentary about her life” as her sister Suzette Quintanilla stated.
On the other hand, according to an analysis of Google search data, on December 20 to 26, 2020, there was a huge increase in the number of searchers for Ariana Grande.
This increase was because of her new movie Excuse Me, I Love You which was released on December 21, 2020.
Her movie is about her Sweetener World Tour where there will be footage about the show and what goes on backstage.
